I'm beginning to enjoy my Lensbaby Sweet 50 with a variety of macro filters.  Today I did some with the +4 macro filter and then a few with +10 and some with +8. It's nice that you can stack the filters for different strength macro. 
I think these "may" be my best macro shots yet. All handheld and some with double exposure. I used a small 12" diffuser for some shots, too.

More sunflowers!  Started the day with my Helios  and then I got a delivery from Lensbaby with a few more macro filters.  I stacked (2) +4 filters and (1) +2 filter for +10 macro.  Interesting how the +10 makes quite a difference from the +7 I've been using!  Liking the +10 macro with it!

Sunflowers!  Inside & outside. I put my sunflowers outside and the buzzing bees loved them! I'd better make sure there are no bees hiding when I bring the sunflowers back in.

I loaded up my 70-200mm lens with my Variable ND filter and headed to the beach to capture the ginormous waves from TS Kyle, but was less than impressed so i switch to my Nikon 200mm macro and went to Fuller Gardens instead.  The roses are even more beautiful than they were in June and the dahlias; well you know how I feel about the DAHLIAS! No special effects, no double exposures, just shooting straight from the heart today in my beautiful little meditation garden. Temps in the high 60s and clouds to protect from harsh light and shadows. Perfection!
This DAHLIA was so different and I just LOVE it❣️

My covid cleaning & decluttering is 95% complete in my livingroom, diningroom, kitchen, office area. On to the bedroom closet & drawers next! The storage room will get done this Fall when it’s cooler weather! Feels soooo goooood❣️
Tonight I came across my Month-by-month school notebook that I created and it started every August. I would be going back to school a week before teachers which would be August 19th. It gave me soooo much pleasure tearing those pages out of the notebook and throwing them away! 😂🤣😂

This afternoon, as it clouded up a bit, I headed to Fuller Gardens to try some 5-shot multiple exposure photography.  My Nikon d750 only does 3 shots in camera so I got a script from Charles Needle (after taking his webinar) to stack them in PhotoShop.  The process was simple, slick & smooth! Of course while there, I had to throw in some of Kathleen Clemons' technique for double exposure Painterly Photography.

I met my "Road Trip Roomie," Debbie Gracy, at Fuller Gardens and once again left my camera card home! This gave me the opportunity to explore the Camera AveragePro App on my iPhone that was recommended by Charles Needle.  I took some multiple Exposure shots and some regular ones. I find I "see" differently when I have my camera as opposed to when i don't. Today I found some cool shadows in the Japanese garden.

More practice with my Helios lens. I headed to Fuller Gardens before the winds pick up and explored  the gardens through my Helios lens.  I am trying to get a sharp focal point with the swirly blur around it although I'm not even sure that a sharp center is what you get after reversing the lens. These vintage lenses along with the Lensbaby lenses are challenging my photography skills as I shoot in fully manual mode.  Some shots were successful; others not so much!  I've never been afraid to fail and grow so Cheers to lifelong learning!

A cooler, cloudy, day means a trip to Fuller Gardens for my flower fix . . . especially my DAHLIA Fix!  Love the roses and the hydrangeas, too!

It was soooo hard to choose ONE with the dahlias and pastel roses, plus today’s neighborhood flowers! But this one hydrangea kept drawing me back to it! I love the different varieties of hydrangeas. Some are lacy, some are plain. This one is dainty & delicate, like a bouquet in one, single bloom! 💕

Since we had a cloudy morning and rain was predicted starting at noon, I headed to Fuller Gardens at 10. I LOVE cloudy days for flower pics and I don't need to wrestle with my diffuser.  I was the only visitor there and I got some pics in before it started raining at 10:35! Putting things together always makes me go Ahhhhhhh❣️ I really do love it ever since I was a kid. If I waited for my father and brother to figure out the assembly of his Christmas presents I’d still be waiting,  60 years later, for Barbie dollhouse  to be put together! 🙄 I learned young! 🤪🤣😂

One of my goals for Winter (now my Covid Goal 🤪) was to learn how to convert some of my photos into Black & White pencil sketches in Photo Shop, print on watercolor paper and use my new Arteza Watercolor pencils and marker brushes to colorize them for a specialized line of cards.  I plan on working on these in the winter when Photo Sessions are slower and I can spend time in my studio. 

Today I converted one photo to try it out. Haven’t done the watercolor part yet but am excited about this new line❣️

First photo is original. Second photo is the sketch version. 😊 Looking forward to the watercolor portion.

I always hate lighting the grill for the first time after replacing the propane . . . even after checking the connection for leaks. I prop my back door open, light the first burner and run in (like I could outrun a gas explosion!🙄)😜😂😝 If it doesn’t blow up I go back and light the other 2 burners! 😝😉😜

But it was worth it for my grass ged beef tenderloin tonight. Almost time for a Hannaford-to-Go run again.  I got some new slicing gadgets so I think I’m going to try a lasagna using thin, flat, zucchini slices instead of noodles. I might use meat although I loved the raw vegetarian lasagna with macadamia nut “cheese” at the Inn of the Seventh Ray!

I thought I'd go to FULLER GARDENS early before working on my taxes because if i started those, I'd never make it to the gardens especially with rain coming in.  It is really PHENOMENAL right now!  My HaPpY Place!  I mostly used my macro lens handheld today. They don't encourage the use of tripods especially at this time of year with a lot of people in the garden as it  blocks the pathways.  Maybe I'll bring it when I go late in the afternoon one of these days. Or I could try my monopod that I never use!

It had been a few days since i went to opening day so this afternoon I went to Fuller Gardens for an hour around 4 p.m..  The clouds rolled in just enough to cut the harsh light.

The roses have exploded in 3 days with the heat and are beautiful!  My favorite rose was always the Sherbet rose, but I have a new favorite now. The COLORIFIC ROSE!  I'm in love with it! i even did some multiple exposures of it to accentuate the ripples.

Celebrating Lupine on the NH Seacoast in Hampton.
A few years ago I photographed these lupine  from the road and left the residents some lupine cards.  She told me to feel free to photograph any time so I have gone back since when I am around during lupine season.  I've been watching them and since it wasn't a beach day I decided to go take some photos with my 70-200mm lens. I may go back with my macro and 24-70mm  in a day or two.

Well, Holland Ridge Farms was very nice and refunded my money. It wasn't their fault my peonies didn't arrive. They mailed them Priority on June 1st.  They sat at the Nashua USPS from June 2nd until last night when they arrived at the Hampton PO.  This is what they looked like when they arrived!  Still hoping they open "a little!"

Tried my luck, with a side of skill thrown in, for Rotating ICM again.  Irises in the garden. I used my 70-200mm Nikon lens on a tripod where I could loosen the collar.  First 2 were partial rotation and the other 6 were full 360° rotation. This is one of the 360°  rotations. I like it❣️I flipped it upside down, but like it both ways.
